Hi, I’m Hazel Hurley, the face behind Captured by HazelH.

I document weddings with a relaxed, editorial sensibility — where raw emotion meets refined composition. For couples who want imagery that feels effortless yet intentional, every frame is more than a photo; it’s a statement.

My work is natural, timeless, and editorial, true-to-colour images, effortlessly telling your story, never forced or over-posed. Your wedding photos are a gift; I make sure they feel just like that.

I never planned to be a wedding photographer. My first wedding came by accident in Cape Town, capturing a friend’s day through my portrait lens. But somewhere between the vows and the dance floor, I realised there’s nothing I love more than witnessing love as it unfolds.

Couples tell me they feel instantly at ease. I’m the calming presence when nerves run high — but also the one doing tequila shots with you if that’s what it takes to shake them off.

Outside of weddings, you’ll find me walking my Doberman, sipping matcha, watching Shrek 2 (the best one), or planning my next adventure abroad. Fun fact: I have a metal spine thanks to scoliosis surgery at 15 — discovered after my opera teacher said I sounded lopsided (she wasn’t wrong!).
